I bought this sheath for a Case Winkler Hambone custom knife, which has an upswept tip. Most leather sheaths in this knife’s size range would not accommodate the upswept tip so I figured that because the Rat 5 is such a broad blade, this sheath would work. I was right! Out of the box the knife fit loosely in the sheath, which is more than most other sheath’s I’ve tried. After wet forming the leather around my knife it now fits snuggly enough to have moderate retention.
