Can you put guns on a layaway at Rural King? ›

Guns can only be held in layaway for 60 days. Paperwork should be completed after final payment of the gun has been made. In the event the customer is not approved to purchase the gun, Rural King will assess a service charge of $10.00 for the handling, storage and record keeping costs of the layaway agreement.

Firearms. Due to legal concerns, firearms cannot be returned after the transfer process has been completed. It is your responsibility to thoroughly inspect the firearm BEFORE completing the transfer. To report any issues on the firearm PRIOR to transfer, contact us at firearmscompliance@ruralking.com.

Rural King offers a wide selection of well-known firearm brands for purchase online. Your firearm will be shipped to a Rural King store or another federally licensed firearms dealer.

Using layaway is simple. The seller defines their policy and a deposit percentage. Buyers review the policy and pay the deposit at checkout. The remaining payments occur directly between the buyer and seller.

Orders are shipped via the carrier selected on checkout, FedEx (Ground, Home Delivery, Overnight), USPS (Priority Mail) or Freight. Factory Shipped items are usually delivered within 7 - 12 business days. However, certain items may take up to 2-4 weeks for delivery.

A 25% NON-REFUNDABLE down payment is required to place an item on layaway. NO STORE CREDIT OR REFUNDS for your down payment will be issued if layaway is cancelled or exceeds 6 months.

Layways require a minimum 20% deposit and must be paid off within 30 days. There is no required payment schedule or additional fees. Dunhams Sport's policy is that we only sell firearms to in-state residents with a drivers license/state ID from within the state the store is located.
