Auditions for Paducah Community College's fall theatrical pro-, duction of "Flowers For Algernon" will be held Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 22 and 23 from 7 until 9 p.m.

in the theater of the college's Student CenterFine Arts Building. Based upon the novel by Daniel Keyes, "Flowers For Algernon" combines medical science fiction and romance to tell the touching story of Charlie Gordon, a retarded adult who undergoes surgery designed to dramatically increase his intelligence in an effort to better understand himself, his family, and the world around him. According to Donald Maley, Chairman of the school's Humanities Division and director of this fall's production, the play version of the work will not be used. Instead, the novel itself has been adapted for a multimedia approach which will incorporate not only traditional theater, but reader's theater and the television arts as well. There are 18 roles available including both men and women, and ranging in age from 6 to 65.

Those needing further information, or who wish to read for a part, but cannot attend the aduitions, should contact Maley at 442-6131, extension 37. The play is tentatively scheduled to open Thursday, Dec. 2, and run through Sunday, Dec. 5. Movie Times COLUMBIA "Zapped" (PG) 3:45, 5:30, 7:10, 9:00.

Wrap-Up Evening at the Improv SCOTT BAIO WILLIE AAMES1 IIS it 13 i i -'V, FT TV i if 'A 'The Wall' surrealistic, boring 1 By The Associated Press THE WALL brings the No. 1 double album by Pink Floyd to the big screen as a sort of rock opera SCOTT BAIO WILL IK AAMfcS "ZAPPED!" He is afraid. Hvact trty, Ky. through surrealistic and often bloody filmed sequences and animation. It's a pretty grim portrait, but even worse it is often repetitive and boring.

There are probably enough powerful segments for half a dozen or so outstanding rock videos but not a full-length feature. The brightest contribution comes from Bob Geldof lead singer of the Boomtown Rats, who is somehow convincing as the adult Pink a character so unendingly negative that he could have been ludicrous. Rated for visual sex and He is totally Movie review about society versus the individual, in this case a rock star by the name of Pink. Hmmmm, wonder how long it took screenwriter Roger Waters of Pink Floyd to come up with that name? With the album's admittedly impressive music providing most of the audio there is almost no dialope Pink's progression from young innocent to jaded, suicidal adult is sketched by director Alan Parker Highway 95, 1 Mil South of U.S. 62 Adm.
