At Architect Knives, we believe that one size does not fit all. Everyone has different preferences and needs for their EDC accessories. Some want speed, while others want a survival item to be as lightweight as possible. So, the best firestarter is the one that checks all the boxes for you.
Paracord is the duct tape of survivalism. You can work miracles with this stuff, from tying down your tent in windy weather to hanging out your wet clothes. For hiking, hoisting food into trees away from wildlife, and so many other applications, paracord is key among survival accessories.
The material your firestarter is made from determines how many strikes you’ll get from it. A Ferrocerium rod will get you between 8,000 to 10,000 strikes, while a magnesium firestarter will get 3,000 strikes. Investigate the material and its claims by talking to other survivalists.
